Bethany & Davison's End to End Running Challenge

Recent Running and Walking Challenges of my own on the Isle of Man include:

Walking 170 miles non-stop in the Double Parish Walk June 2008 - £5,800 raised.

Walking 110 miles round all 91 pubs on the island over 4 days - £2,400 raised.

Running 100 miles in 3 days round the island and on a treadmill - £300 raised.

Running 6 marathons in 6 days along 6 Promenades Feb 2010 - £400 raised

My next challenge is bigger and better – the End to End Running Challenge.

I want to run the length of the Isle of Man (40 miles) ten times, finishing with the End to End Racewalk on Sunday September 26th 2010 (visit www.endtoendwalk.org).  It is 400 miles in 12 days.

I will start run / walking between 8 or 9am on Wednesday 15th September from the Sound to the Point Of Ayre. It will take me 8-10 hours to complete in all weather. I will be supported by Davison's Manx Ice Cream Van, similar to the marathon challenge Eddie Izzard completed, which will support me and the ice cream, petrol and mileage are donated free. This means all the proceeds from the ice cream van will go to the 'Hyperbaric chamber' (visit www.hboman.com).

The schedule to run is as follows:

Wednesday 15th September: Sound to Point Of Ayre via Peel, K. Michael, Orrisdale.

Thursday 16th September: Point Of Ayre to Sound via Orrisdale, K. Michael, Peel.

Friday 17th September: Sound to Point Of Ayre via Peel, K. Michael, Orrisdale.

Saturday 18th September: Point Of Ayre to Sound via Orrisdale, K. Michael, Peel.

Sunday 19th September: Day Off to sell ice-cream in Douglas, Port Erin, Peel etc.

Monday 20th September: Point Of Ayre to Sound via Orrisdale, K. Michael, Peel.

Tuesday 21st September: Sound to Point Of Ayre via Peel, K. Michael, Orrisdale

Wednesday 22nd September: Point Of Ayre to Sound via Orrisdale, K. Michael, Peel.

Thursday 23rd September: Sound to Point Of Ayre via Peel, K. Michael, Orrisdale.

Friday 24th September: Day Off to sell ice-cream to Office Workers

Saturday 25th September: Sound to Point Of Ayre via Peel, K. Michael, Orrisdale.

Sunday 26th September: RACEWALK from Point Of Ayre to Sound starting 8am.

On the odd days; 15th, 17th, 21st, 23rd and 25th September I will run south to north.

On the even days; 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 26th September I will run north to south.

I have the 19th and 24th September off.

By doing it this way, the ice cream van will be in Peel at 11-1pm and Kirk Michael at 1.30-3pm on odd days. On even days the van will be in Kirk Michael at 11-1pm and Peel on 1.30-3pm.

Runners and walkers please help me:

I am looking for runners and walkers to run /walk with me, moving between 11-13 minute miles – SLOWLY. If anyone can spare a few hours to keep me company, please contact me at tel. 07624 481792.  I am also looking for walkers or runners to run / walk with me on training days on Mondays and Thursdays. I would like people to cover some of the 30-40 miles with me to keep me company. If you can help, please contact me.

An Evening with RORY COLEMAN

I am bringing across ultra marathoner Rory Coleman, visit (www.rorycoleman.co.uk) and (www.ultrarace.co.uk). He is giving a talk about his ultrarunning; consisting of 650 marathons, Mdes (Sahara Ultrarace) seven times and 9 Guinness World Records for treadmill running, and organising ultraraces such as his John O'Groats to Lands End Ultra I attempted in May 2010.

I have booked the Creg-Ny-Baa for the 24th September. Rory Coleman will talk from 7.30-8.30pm. Then there will be chip baps. Afterwards there will be a Q&A session with him. There is a bar and tickets are £12 each. There is a raffle too. For tickets please e-mail me or phone 07624481792. Please support this evening as Rory is a very motivated ultrarunner who has organised many races in the UK. He will give an inspiring and knowledgeable talk.

Please help me raise lots of money for the Chamber.  Thanks.

However I HAVE A CALF INJURY.  WILL I BE ABLE TO RUN THIS?

I AM SEEING SPECIALISTS THIS WEEK - JOHN BARTON AND MARK HEMPSALL.

IF I CAN GET A DIAGNOSIS THEN I WILL BE HAPPY.

AT LEAST I WILL KNOW WHAT I AM UP AGAINST.
